New age sportspersons - Fearless!
Back again!! After the wonderful and happy month for Indian sports. Quite few things happened.
First it was our hockey teams which were in action - in the Asia cup. The men’s happened in Chennai and Women’s in Hongkong. The men’s team played a attacking and fearless hockey and came out with the top spot.
The Indian Cricket team under the new captain went to the T20 World cup. They were expected to perform average. Move to super 8 and then return home. but the team played fearless cricket, played/handled the crunch situations rather coolly and skillfully. From the first match onwards the Indian team was in crunch situation(thanks to the washout against Scotland). They tied the match against Pak and then came out winners in a football like score. In the super 8 they lost against Kiwis.. so made all the matches after that in must-win situations.
The so-called experts(who didn’t expect India not to do so well) forget that Indians were exposed to these kind of cricket at the low level, called Gully-Cricket or Tape-cricket. These matches are played with modified rules and with 10-25 overs.. Hope the next couple of months the Indians play good and entertaining cricket.
